Uterine Necrosis After Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE) - Rare Entity with a Dilemma

ABSTRACT Uterine artery embolization (UAE), a minimally invasive procedure used for controlling and managing profuse bleeding in conditions like uterine fibroids, hemorrhage, cases of intractable postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). A wide array complications due to UAE includes pulmonary embolism, ischemia, necrosis, sepsis, death. 27 years old married woman (parity 1+2) presented with complaints mass protruding the vagina dirty brown vaginal discharge. Following was done (PPH) she had developed fever burning micturition on which ultrasound show an anteverted, enlarged, bulky uterus, multiple endogenic foci, endometrial canal adjacent myometrium suggestive infective pathology. In this case report management PPH were discussed, however, research is required comprehend causes necrosis following its management.
